What are XML sitemaps?

XML Sitemaps are an important method for site owners and webmasters to inform the major search engines spiders about pages on their web sites that are available for indexing. Basically, a Sitemap is an text XML file that lists every single URLs for a site along with optional additional information about each page (e.g. when it was last changed, how often it usually gets updated, and how important it is in relation to other page URLs in the site) so that major search engines spiders can more easily crawl the site from the list they have been given.
Web search engine spiders usually find pages from links within the site and from other sites that have been indexed previously. Sitemaps supplement this source of data to allow spiders that support the Sitemaps protocols to pick up every URL in the Sitemap and find out about those URLs using the supplied metadata.

How is our dynamic XML sitemap generator different?
There are many XML sitemap generators available on the internet, ranging from simple scripts to downloadable applications. Most however are static - in that if you add another page to your site, you will need to run the XML sitemap generator again.
Our XML sitemap generator is dynamic, meaning that you can schedule it to run how ever often you want. You can choose from Daily, Weekly or Monthly schedules. Depending on the size of your site the system may adjust your indexing schedule (see table below).
There is a 50K URL and 10mb sitemap size limitation for very large sites. Other online services and applications are stumped by this. Our site indexer has no problem with this, although we do ask that if you want us to generate a XML sitemap for a massive site then please subscribe to our service - it is just $1 a month (with a month's FREE trial), and then you don't even need to bother with linking us or our partner sites.

In order to have our system check and help maintain your XML sitemap simply Add your Site to our directory and then all the tools will be available to you when you log on.
Why are www.onewaylinkexchange.com+xbot user agents appearing in my server logs?
In order to index your site and generate the XML sitemap our bot - 'the xbot' will traverse your site. It makes itself know to your analytics tracking program as the 'xbot'.
Is there anything the dynamic XML sitemap generator can't do?
It can take a while to index your site, and if it is very big, it might take a while to come back. We try to index sites as soon as possible, but since we might have a lot of sites in the queue before your site it might take a while.
The dynamic XML sitemap generator can't follow javascript'ed or java links, nor will it follow 301/302 redirects so please ensure if you want the entire site indexed that you have normal A HREF links between all pages.
